# The Titans update

*v0.8 · October 2026*

The shards wake. Bring a Titan to its knees.

- **[The Shardborn](#the-shardborn):** Four Titans of living land, 48 blocks tall. Wake one. Bring it down.
- **[Shard Cradles](#shard-cradles):** Sunken arenas in the Elemental World. Beat its Keeper, then bring fuel.
- **[Bring it to its knees](#the-fight):** Shoot the knee crystals, climb its arm, strike the heart.
- **[Four elements, four fights](#four-elements):** Icicle rain, fireball volleys, thorn beams, marked lightning.
- **[Every creature, rebuilt](#the-creatures):** Hollows, Bonewalkers, Crawlers, Gloops, Vael Robots. No two alike.

**Also new:**

- Waking a Shardborn takes 4 of its element’s ore and a block of the rarest ore in the stone, used on the cradle stone.
- Its fuel is the clock: 15 minutes of light on the boss bar, then it sinks back to sleep.
- Every win: its ore and up to 2 Moonstone. The first over each: its Shard and a Shardmantle. All four: the Shardfall Cape and the title Titanbreaker.
- One Shardborn awake per world. A cradle rests 30 minutes after its fight.
- Each creature has its own colours, gear and marks, the same for everyone who sees it.
- Creatures breathe, look about, blink and flinch, and their faces turn when they come for you.
- Bonewalkers wear the bronze, verdigris or black iron of the old temple guards.
- A Bonewalker draws before it looses. When its arrowhead sparks, take cover.
- Vael Robots burn with an ember lens; tame one with tungsten and it wakes to Rivet’s cyan.
- Gloops carry their element’s crystal inside, and each one is its own size.
- Dust Hollows, Crawlers, pigs and cows have hitboxes that match their new shapes.
- A character kept for a name idle 60 days gets its land, trust and team back when its owner returns.
- A private world’s download always has its newest save.

## Patches

### Version 0.8.2

- **A way home from day one:** Until a Homefire burns, Home 1 goes where you wake. Raise one from the list.

- Creatures climb one-block steps instead of hopping in place.
- The bag and the Maker’s Bench open faster, most of all on phones.
- Frozen lakes draw lighter, and chatting on a phone no longer jolts the view.
- Death piles and chest items can’t be doubled or lost if the server stops at the wrong moment.
- Make 1, 5 or all puts ingredients back in the chests they came from when the bag is full.
- Each update’s notes show once when you return, and an open tab offers Reload when a new version is out.

### Version 0.8.1

- **The Homefire:** Your first home, free. Its smoke shows the way back.
- **The Bedroll:** Wake where you lay it. In your own world, rest till dawn.
- **Benches reach your chests:** Bench, Forge and Hearth Pot take from the chests beside them.
- **Stow:** One press puts your bag’s stacks in the chest that holds them.
- **Stow nearby:** Z sends them to every chest you may open within 6 blocks.
- **Restock:** A hotbar stack that runs out refills from your bag.
- **The recipe card:** Make 1, 5 or all. See what each item goes into and where it’s found.
- **Keen Eye:** Aim at it: its name, its tool, how ripe the crop is.
- **The Fallen Mark holds:** Your last three deaths, kept through reloads. One touch takes the pile.
- **The sun dial:** The sun sinks on the compass. A minute before dusk, it warns you.
- **Home, spawn and kin:** Your homes, your spawn and your team, marked on the compass.
- **What you pick up:** +12 Oak Log at the side, and Bag full when something stays behind.
- **Quick move on phones:** Tap ⇄, then tap a stack to send it across. Hold to send them all.

- Your homes are in the pause menu.
- A Homefire holds off the cold and hunger.
- In a Realm the night passes when half of you rest.
- The compass works in every world: at home it points to your spawn.
- Esc opens the pause menu from the death and downed screens.
- The opening scene plays once. Replay it from the Journal.
- On touch screens, Skip shows from the start of the opening scene.
- Online worlds are backed up every 6 hours, away from the server.
- Damage numbers show the hit a creature really takes: a Titan’s heart, three times over.
- Downloading a private world no longer stalls the game.
- On phones, an item’s name no longer lingers after it moves.

## The Shardborn

When the binders chained the elements in the Keepers, the shards of the Riven Crystal were left. Each one pulled its element’s land into a body, and the binders could only sing them to sleep in stone cradles. They are the **Shardborn**: Titans 48 blocks tall, one for each element. Every one you bring down sets its Shard free.

| Shardborn | Element | Woken with | Only after |
|---|---|---|---|
| **Tidewrought** | Water | 4 Water Ore | the Frost Wraith |
| **Blazewrought** | Fire | 4 Fire Ore | the Magma Colossus |
| **Quakewrought** | Earth | 4 Earth Ore | the Thorn Guardian |
| **Galewrought** | Wind | 4 Wind Ore | the Tempest |

## Shard Cradles

A **Shard Cradle** is a sunken arena 72 blocks across, ringed by four obelisks, in about one region in six of the Elemental World, far from the temples. Stand at the cradle stone holding 4 of an element’s ore, with a block of the rarest ore in the stone in your bag, and use it: the ore chooses which Shardborn wakes. Only a player who has beaten that element’s Keeper can wake it.

The call goes out to everyone in the Elemental World, with the cradle’s place, and for a minute the ground kindles. Then it rises. The fuel is the clock: 15 minutes of light burn down on its boss bar, and when they run out it sinks back to sleep. One Shardborn is awake in a world at a time; after a fight the world rests 10 minutes and that cradle 30.

## The fight

It walks a step every 3 seconds, 7 blocks a stride, and every footfall is marked on the ground 1.5 seconds before it lands: under the foot is crushing, near it shakes you. Stand in front of it and it slams both fists down. Blows to its body count for a tenth.

Its **knee crystals** (200 each) bring it down. Break one and it kneels at the end of its step for 12 seconds (16 on Easy), still as stone: climb its arm to the **heart**, 16 blocks up, where blades strike for triple and shots for half again. Its knees grow back when it stands.

| Phase | Health | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| I | 100-65% | Steps, stomps and the slam |
| II | 65-30% | Its shoulder crystals cast its element every 8 seconds; break them (200) to silence them |
| III | under 30% | The crown casts too, every 6 seconds, and seals the heart until it breaks (300) |

It has 3,000 health against one player on Medium (1,800 on Easy, 3,900 on Hard), and 70% more for each player who joins the fight, up to eight.

## Four elements, four fights

| Shardborn | Its shoulders and crown cast |
|---|---|
| Tidewrought | Icicle rain |
| Blazewrought | Fireball volleys |
| Quakewrought | Thorn beams that poison and root |
| Galewrought | Lightning, marked before it strikes |

## Rewards

Everyone within 60 blocks of the cradle when its heart bursts takes a share: 2-4 of its ore, the rarest ore and up to 2 Moonstone. The first win over each Shardborn gives its **Shard** and a **Shardmantle** for your shoulders; all four give the **Shardfall Cape** and the title **Titanbreaker**. They are earned, never sold.

## The creatures

- **Hollows, Bonewalkers and Crawlers:** Each in its own colours, gear and marks. Their faces turn when they come for you.
- **Pigs, cows and chickens:** Rebuilt for their bodies, with hitboxes that match.
- **Vael Robots and Gloops:** An ember lens, or Rivet’s cyan once tamed. Each Gloop its own size.

Every everyday creature is rebuilt: Hollows, Dust Hollows, Frostbitten, Bonewalkers, Crawlers, Vael Robots, Gloops, pigs, cows and chickens. No two are quite alike: each has its own colours, gear and marks, the same for everyone who sees it. They breathe, look about, blink and flinch.

Bonewalkers wear the bronze, verdigris or black iron of the old temple guards. Vael Robots burn with an ember lens, and a tamed one wakes to Rivet’s cyan. Gloops carry their element’s crystal inside. Dust Hollows, Crawlers, pigs and cows have hitboxes that match their new shapes.
