What is Riventale?

Riventale is a free voxel sandbox adventure game that you play in your web browser. You build, craft and explore a world of blocks, find the ruins of a vanished people called the Vael, and face four elemental bosses called the Keepers.

Is Riventale free?

Yes. Riventale is free to play at riventale.world. There is no download and no account to make.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. Riventale runs in your web browser. Open riventale.world and press New Game.

What do I need to play Riventale?

Any modern web browser with WebGL, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on a computer, tablet or phone. A keyboard and mouse work best on a computer. If the game runs slowly, lower the view distance in the pause menu.

Can I play Riventale on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Riventale has touch controls: a joystick to move, drag to look, tap to use and hold to mine. On a phone, turn it sideways: the game plays in landscape.

How does saving work?

Your worlds are saved in your browser on your device, with up to 5 save slots. Use Save & Quit in the pause menu, and Continue on the title screen. Clearing your browser's site data deletes your saves, and saves do not move between devices or browsers.

Does Riventale have multiplayer?

Not yet. Riventale is single player today. Online multiplayer, so you can build and fight bosses with friends, is coming soon.

Who are the Keepers?

The Keepers are Riventale's four elemental bosses: the Frost Wraith (Water), the Magma Colossus (Fire), the Thorn Guardian (Earth) and the Tempest (Wind). Each one is chained in its own temple and rises again after it falls.

What are the difficulty levels?

There are three paths. Easy (the Wanderer): no hunger and monsters hit softly. Medium (the Adventurer): a hunger bar, so you eat to heal and sprint. Hard (the Champion): starving can kill, and there are more, tougher monsters.

Does Riventale have ads, in-app purchases or an account?

No. There are no ads, no purchases and no sign-up. You open the page and play.

Is Riventale suitable for children?

Riventale has cartoon combat with monsters, robots and bosses, and no blood or gore. There is no chat with strangers in single player. Parents should still decide what suits their child.
